Brick by brick

Be a catalyst for change
Ambition Habitation is guided by a simple belief: affordable housing is built together. Our model is based on collaboration and shared resources to meet the real needs of communities.

Our partners play a vital role. They bring complementary expertise and in-depth knowledge of the region.

Household needs, regulatory realities, support for individuals, and building management and operations: our partnership-based approach serves as a practical lever.

Together, these contributions shape the initiatives that become the communities of life rooted, viable and sustainable.

The CDC team

The CDC Beauharnois-Salaberry is a key partner of Ambition Habitation and plays a pivotal role in its establishment and development. In response to the housing crisis affecting the entire region, the CDC supported the creation of Ambition Habitation to provide a concrete solution to the need for affordable housing for low-income individuals and community organizations. This commitment is reflected in a financial contribution of $250,000, spread over four years, demonstrating a structural, sustainable support that is consistent with its mission.

At the heart of Ambition Habitation’s development, the CDC Beauharnois–Salaberry helped draft the business plan, establish governance structures, and organize the organization. It mobilized partners, facilitated strategic meetings, recruited board members, and presented the project to various decision-making bodies, including municipal councils and the Beauharnois-Salaberry RCM Council of Mayors. This work helped create favorable conditions for the implementation of concrete and promising projects for the region.

More broadly, the CDC Beauharnois–Salaberry supports and assists local community organizations, promotes their visibility, and actively contributes to community development. It also leads and coordinates the Housing Emergency Committee, a collaborative forum that brings together various stakeholders concerned with housing issues. The CDC’s involvement in Ambition Habitation is thus part of a comprehensive and collaborative approach to housing needs, aimed at sustainable solutions that are tailored to local realities and rooted in community solidarity.
